Oksana Sklifasovska, BSc, D.Ch., RN, [Ukraine]MD
Oksana is originally from Odessa, Ukraine where she attended Odessa State Medical University in 1996. After graduating, she completed her residency and worked as a Neurologist in the Neurological Department of Odessa Municipal Hospital.
Oksana then moved to Canada with her family and decided to continue her career as a nurse. Initially, she provided nursing care on the Continued Care Department at Mackenzie Health Hospital and then specialized as a Wound Care Nurse and finally a became a Nurse Educator for SRT MedStaff, (one of the largest nursing agencies in the Greater Toronto Area). While taking care of high-risk patients with Diabetes, Peripheral Vascular pathologies, lower extremity wounds and foot ulcerations, she discovered her interest in Foot Biomechanics and Pathologies. Specifically, she was most interested in Diabetic and High Risk Patient Foot care. Inspired, she attended Michener Institute of Applied Arts and graduated from the Chiropody Program, which she graduated from in 2014.
Oksana successfully operates her own practice – Family Care Foot Clinic – helping to keep Whitby walking with healthy feet.
KATERINA M. N. GOLTSIOS, B.Sc. Hon., D.Ch.
Katerina Goltsios obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours (B.Sc. Hon.) in Kinesiology & Psychology from York University and her Advanced Diploma of Health Sciences in Chiropody (D.Ch) from the Michener Institute of Education at UHN in Toronto. In her final year, Katerina was awarded the Paris Orthotics Clinical Education Scholarship, to which is given to a student who displays leadership and clinical excellence in podiatric biomechanics. Katerina has clinical experience in both public healthcare centers and private clinics. She has a special interest in callus care, athletic injuries, and gait biomechanics. Katerina speaks both English and Greek and is a member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists and MultiSport Canada. Katerina has advanced lifesaving certificates, and teaches first aid as a hobby. When not at work, Katerina enjoys running and hiking with her dog (Leo), traveling and spending time with family and friends.
ARUN HOMENAUTH, D.Ch.
Arun Homenauth completed the Michener Institute Chiropody program, and is also an international medical graduate from the University of Guyana School of Medicine. He was also a recipient of the best-rounded graduate award. During his pre-clinical and clinical training, he was involved in various research to raise awareness of specific medical issues, prevention, and remedial measures. His most recent studying and training focused on assessing, preventing, and managing diseases and disorders of the foot. This led him into his current profession as a foot specialist.
